Images below are currently on display at Athens High School.
First students took photographs of objects that represented his or her personalities and that had personal meaning to them. Then, they used these photographs as reference to create these individualistic paintings. Lastly they wrote about the objects they selected and they selected these objects.

Painting Techniques. To start off the semester students did a variety of practices in their sketchbooks learning several different painting techniques.
Techniques below include some of the following they learned and are examples of their work. Techniques such as under drawing, blending, dry brush, splatter painting, sgraffito, scumbling, and impasto styles can be observed in this work. Students also learned techniques including glazing, wet-in-wet, color grounds, knife painting, and stenciling.
